Those are Balrog and Misery, the Doctor's two henchmen. Misery's some bitchy sorceress, while Balrog is....um....I don't really know, maybe a living toaster. And he shouts "Huzzah!" a lot.

God I love that game, they say there are 3 different endings... I've only found 2 tho (unless getting game over counts as an ending)

There are three, one for leaving on the dragon, one for beating the game normally, and one for finding a rather difficult area.
